The Great Work

Preparation and Integration coaching for plant medicine ceremony

Most people approach ceremony the same way they approach everything else in our culture...

Fast. Alone. Unprepared.

They find a date. They show up. They hope.

And sometimes it helps.

But often - without the right preparation and integration support - the insights fade,

the patterns return, and the experience that was meant to change everything... doesn't.

That's not a failure of the medicine.

That's a failure of the container.

I'm James (that's me, on the left).

I am an Anishinaabe artist, musician, author, father, and student of life from the Kitigan Zibi Algonquin First Nation. For twenty-five years, I struggled with addiction while carrying the weight of childhood trauma, chronic illness, and a deep search for meaning.

Everything changed in 2022 when I reached rock bottom. What began as a journey to heal addiction became a journey to discover who I truly am. Through plant medicine, creativity, and deep inner work, I found freedom from alcohol and drugs and a profound sense of purpose.

My path has led me to learn from respected Indigenous Elders, spiritual teachers, and traditional Amazonian healers. Their wisdom has taught me that healing is not about becoming someone new - it's about remembering who you've always been.

Today, I share that journey through Abstract Visions - a platform dedicated to Art, Music, and Medicine. Through paintings, music, writing, retreats, and mentorship, I create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and discover the healing power within.

I believe our deepest wounds can become our greatest gifts. My hope is that my story inspires others to step courageously onto their own path of healing, creativity, and purpose.
